Administrator
I arrived in Montreal in March of this year and I am here to continue to prepare myself and search for work in the administrative departments within industries that support the environment as their core interest.
Since 1987 I’ve managed the retail, wholesale and production of clothing, accessories (purse and belts), in 1996 switched to the garden industry and finally by 1997 switched to the outdoor tourism industry. Why administration? Because that’s the side of business I’ve worked on for the most part, though that’s not all I’ve done.
Academics
2 yrs – Interior Designing
2 yrs – Psychology
Spanish / English / French (currently Level 2 student)
I have no administrative academic studies other than self learned and have always used Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and assisted the bookkeeper using Simply Accounting. However, to update my skills I will enrol part-time in “General Business Studies” offered through Continuing Education at Concordia University.
General characteristics –
First, as an independent person with initiative I have been able to be my own boss for many years.
Second, I have always assisted with administration due to my tendency to have an orderly working environment. Here is where being an organized, detailed oriented person has been an asset.
Third, I have dealt a great deal with suppliers and customers both in person and by phone. Even though I do not consider myself a people person, I do have patience and interest in understanding the other person to be able to assist.
Forth, I have always been flexible to do what’s necessary and like to keep learning to do the best possible.
Fifth, I take work seriously and enjoy growing with the business (not alone) in a positive manner.
Sixth, honesty and reliability are a must.
